Named after the 80s steampunk novel, Infernal Devices reimagines Victorian Retro Futurism through a fakebit filter applied to the post-disco dancefloor--as if a Korg MS-20 traveled back in time to the first World's Fair in 1851, stuck around for another hundred years, then befriended Human League, Gary Numan, Cerrone, Les Rhythmes Digitales and Daft Punk and came back to tell the story. Like a poetic prologue to the writings of Jules Verne, H.G. Wells and J.W. Jeter, their lyrics harken back to the wonder and possibility of the industrial era.

Infernal Devices is Andy Miccolis and Mark Allen, two New York-based songwriters, multi-instrumentalists, touring musicians and producers with a penchant for the cybercultural visual aesthetic. Andy, master of the keys, bass and production, has collaborated with such notable performers as vocalist Elodie O and drummer Guy Licata. Mark is former vocalist/guitarist of The Shapes (Ace Fu). Diverging from their former projects, Infernal Devices takes their fantastical vision of the future to give a new finish to the retro sounds of space disco and synth-pop fused with a contemporary sensibility akin to Hot Chip, SebastiAn, Daft Punk and Calvin Harris.
